Ethiope East Local Government Chairman Receives Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Delegation

Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, received a delegation from the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusive development, and strategic partnerships that improve livelihoods across the Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, received a delegation from the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) on a courtesy visit to his office at the Council Secretariat, Isiokolo.

The delegation, led by Comrade Evueh Christy, visited to formally introduce the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up to the Executive Chairman and seek the collaboration and support of the Local Government Council for the successful implementation of the programme across Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit, the team leader explained that the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up is aimed at empowering women socially and economically by strengthening women’s groups, expanding access to livelihood opportunities, and promoting inclusive community development. She noted that partnership with the Local Government Council would play a crucial role in ensuring that the programme reaches more women at the grassroots and achieves its intended impact.

Responding, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, commended the delegation for the initiative and praised the programme’s commitment to improving the welfare and economic well-being of women. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to policies and programmes that promote women’s empowerment, gender inclusion, and sustainable community development.

The Executive Chairman assured the delegation of the Council’s readiness to work closely with the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up to ensure that women across the various communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area benefit from the opportunities and interventions provided under the programme.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to fostering a productive partnership that will enhance women’s economic participation, strengthen community development, and contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of Ethiope East Local Government Area.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of the Local Government Council and the Department of State Services to strengthening security, promoting peace, and advancing the socio-economic development of Ethiope East Local Government Area.

ETHIOPE EAST LEGISLATIVE ARM AND NULGE PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, HON. CHIEF AUGUSTINE OGEDEGBE, JP

The Ethiope East Local Government Council is pleased to announce that the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, has received a unanimous vote of confidence from the Ethiope East Legislative Arm and the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ethiope East Chapter.

The endorsement was made during the thanksgiving service commemorating the Chairman’s two years in office and celebrating his recent court victory. It reflects the shared confidence of the Legislative Arm and the council’s workforce in the administration’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and sustainable development.

Presenting the position of the Legislative Arm, the Leader of the House, Hon. Emojeya Emmanuel, commended the Executive Chairman for maintaining a harmonious and productive relationship between the Executive and the Legislature, a partnership that has fostered peace, strengthened governance, promoted community development, and enhanced service delivery across Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Similarly, the Chairman of NULGE, Ethiope East Chapter, Comrade Erivwode Alex, affirmed the union’s unwavering confidence in the leadership of Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, describing him as a worker-friendly Chairman whose administration has consistently prioritized the welfare of staff through the prompt payment of salaries, settlement of outstanding claims, regular release of imprests, and continuous improvement in staff welfare.

The Council expresses its profound appreciation to the traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, stakeholders, party faithful, and the people of Ethiope East who joined in the thanksgiving celebration and have continued to support the administration’s vision for progress.

This overwhelming vote of confidence serves as a strong affirmation of the administration’s achievements over the past two years and further inspires the Council to remain steadfast in its commitment to delivering inclusive development, quality service, and responsive leadership for the benefit of all residents of Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Ethiope East Local Government Council Inaugurates Task Force Committee on Billboards

Ethiope East Local Government Council, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, inaugurated the Ethiope East Local Government Task Force Committee on Billboards at the Council Secretariat in Isiokolo.

The inauguration forms part of the Council's commitment to ensuring proper regulation, safety, environmental aesthetics, and effective management of billboard installations across the Local Government Area.

Members of the committee are charged to carry out their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and professionalism. The committee is urges to ensure that all billboard structures within the Local Government comply with approved standards and safety regulations in order to safeguard lives and property.

he committee has been mandated to oversee the control, monitoring, safety compliance, and management of billboard installations throughout Ethiope East Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, on Monday, June 8, 2026, received the newly posted Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Isiokolo Divisional Police Headquarters, CSP Iziokhai Tunde Ambrose, during a courtesy visit to his office in Isiokolo.


Welcoming the new DPO, Hon. Ogedegbe congratulated CSP Ambrose on his posting to Ethiope East Local Government Area and assured him of the council’s commitment to fostering a strong working relationship with the Nigeria Police Force. He reiterated the administration’s readiness to provide the necessary support to security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and security across the local government area.


The Chairman emphasized that peace and security remain essential ingredients for sustainable development and economic progress. He noted that his administration places a high premium on the protection of lives and property and will continue to collaborate closely with all security agencies to ensure a safe and conducive environment for residents.


In his response, CSP Iziokhai Tunde Ambrose expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for the warm reception and the council’s demonstrated commitment to security matters. He pledged to work harmoniously with the local government, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to sustain peace, uphold law and order, and enhance the safety of lives and property throughout Ethiope East.
