
Ethiope East Local Government Chairman Receives Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Delegation
Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, received a delegation from the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusive development, and strategic partnerships that improve livelihoods across the Local Government Area.
The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, received a delegation from the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) on a courtesy visit to his office at the Council Secretariat, Isiokolo.
The delegation, led by Comrade Evueh Christy, visited to formally introduce the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up to the Executive Chairman and seek the collaboration and support of the Local Government Council for the successful implementation of the programme across Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, the team leader explained that the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up is aimed at empowering women socially and economically by strengthening women’s groups, expanding access to livelihood opportunities, and promoting inclusive community development. She noted that partnership with the Local Government Council would play a crucial role in ensuring that the programme reaches more women at the grassroots and achieves its intended impact.
Responding, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, commended the delegation for the initiative and praised the programme’s commitment to improving the welfare and economic well-being of women. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to policies and programmes that promote women’s empowerment, gender inclusion, and sustainable community development.
The Executive Chairman assured the delegation of the Council’s readiness to work closely with the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up to ensure that women across the various communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area benefit from the opportunities and interventions provided under the programme.
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to fostering a productive partnership that will enhance women’s economic participation, strengthen community development, and contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of Ethiope East Local Government Area.
